Bridge Construction
Bridge construction is among the most challenging and comprehensive applications of civil engineering. Due to the long service life required, the structure must be built in the safest manner possible. Therefore, loads on bridges are transferred to bedrock through load-bearing piles. Korfezdeniz Construction successfully completed Turkey's deepest rock socket (120 m) and largest piles ever lifted (Ø2500 mm; L=86 m) at the Halic Metro Crossing Bridge. At the Osmangazi Bridge (Izmit Bay Crossing), Turkey's first underwater pile driving was carried out using our in-house developed engineering methods and equipment. 390 underwater piles of Ø2000 mm; L=35 m were driven beneath the bearing tower foundations.
