Breakwater Construction
Breakwaters are long barriers built in the sea in front of ports or jetties to protect the coastline, coastal structures, and vessels in the port from the effects of waves. Breakwaters are used to dissipate wave energy and can be constructed in various types including rubble mound, caisson, floating, and piled structures. While part of the wave energy is dissipated on the structure, another part climbs over it, causing wave overtopping. Wave overtopping can cause damage, loss of life, property, and operational time on the landward side of the structure. Therefore, breakwater construction is of great importance.
Our company carries out activities such as pile driving, categorical stone placement, underwater geotextile laying, placement of breakwater armor units, and crown wall construction for breakwater projects with completed hydraulic modeling.
